The Pink Panther has been studied and reinterpreted at the School of Design of Politecnico di Milano. The design workshop “The Pink Side of Design. Nuovi linguaggi stilistici per un character di successo [The Pink Side of Design. New Stylistic Languages for a Character of Success]” (lecturers Erik Ciravegna and Umberto Tolino, with the support of Omar Carano and Jessica Prunotto) was held from the 13th to the 17th of May 2013 in cooperation with Metro Goldwyn Meyer.

This full-immersion workshop involved the third-year students of the Communication Design Bachelor Degree, who revisited the historic MGM character and, in view of the celebrations of its 50th anniversary, created 12 style-guides, each of them with a new graphic language and an original and innovative theme. Once selected by MGM, the results will be available to start new and exclusive “design-oriented” licensing programs, to celebrate the Pink Panther for its 50 years.
